Alfie died on 02.03.03. He died of a placental abruption at the age of 32 weeks.
Well, it was just a normal day, Mum cooking dinner, J (Alfie's Dad) playing on his computer and comforting Mum. Mum being sick because of the little boy in her stomach.
Mum, suddenly got pains so she went off to bed, hoping that the pain would ware off but sadly it got worse and good thoughts turned to the worse.
Just to be on the safe side, J phoned an ambulance for Mum to go to the delivery suite. They phoned our Nana to come and look after us.
While we were at Nan's, she received a phone call so Nan walked off into the kitchen and we all carried on doing what we were doing. Then Nan came back into the living room and she was crying. I said "Has she had it." Then she said "No, she's lost the baby." My whole world collapsed, I suddenly thought if Mum was alright. I wondered if J was O.K. We got to visit them a few times in hospital.
It was great the night we got to have him home. We couldn't pick him up as all the fluids would move around inside of him.
It came to the burial and that was so sad. Watching him being lowered underground but then it came to the cheering up part! We had a party to celebrate the 32 weeks of his life!
